We will practice our sustained reading skills and also work on literary analysis writing in response to the novel, A Separate Peace. Having a class set of the novel, A Separate Peace, will provide a great opportunity to analyze character analysis, especially when we take the psychological approach to understand how characters use a variety of defense mechanisms when responding to various challenges and life circumstances. Ultimately we will also analyze our own use of some of these defense mechanisms, giving us greater insight into our own past choices, behaviors, and also goals for our future, as we have certainly been navigating some challenges over the last year and a half due to the pandemic!

About my class
