Writing: 3rd grade: W.3.10 Writing across genres in one class setting. Writing utensils to promote creative thinking, constructed responses, and good penmanship. My students will benefit from pencils due to daily writing assignments and the possibility of quarantining at home and needing school supplies Reading: 3rd grade: R.L3.1-#.3 Understanding character traits, setting, plot, conflict, and resolution. My students will benefit from reading novels and will increase book discussions promoting Speaking and Listening SL3.3, deepening their love for reading, and enhancing comprehension. The teacher will meet with students in small group instruction focusing on fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. Students will benefit by using Post-it and they will be used to annotate novels and prepare for group discussion. If my students are guaranteed they will have the books and supplies to continue to learn from home. Our goal is to read with fluency and have good comprehension while expanding vocabulary. My students’ emotional well-being will have great benefit by creating an environment where students feel safe so they are ready to learn. Having an organized working space will help students who have attention issues work on task and complete their assignments. Having supplies that they do need and not have to share with others will help keep our class covid free which helps kids stay in school. Our goal is to stay in school.
