The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted school aged children around the globe. As a Speech Language Pathologist working in a school district I see how wearing masks and being quarantined and/or on lockdown has adversely affected the communication skills of an entire generation. These supplies will allow me to elicit receptive and expressive communication; as well as provide a sensory input balance to regulate their systems so that they are able and ready to learn! These supplies will also help to greatly improve their social communication skills. The children will play games and interact with peers while increasing receptive and expressive communication skills. Children will learn to strategize, conversational turn taking, how to be a good sport, following directions, listening, and etc. The PECs communication board and materials will be used directly by students that are nonverbal or lack functional verbal forms of communication. All materials will be used directly by students to help increase skills in required in order to be the most independent and functional as that student can be!
