My students benefit from sensory breaks. A Sensory Break is a designated portion of time that may allow students to deescalate from the sensory stimulation of the curriculum challenges. Using sensory designed items and giving opportunities for movement at the right time helps increase student focus, decrease stress, and create opportunities for community building and fun. The use of the Sports Parachute, Tic-Tac-Toe Floor Games, plastic swing ball set and Bowling pin set will give the opportunity to allow for the engaging of students to Improve social skills such as communication and cooperation as well as eye hand coordination(fine/gross-motor skills). The plastic daydreamer floor mats, plastic floor scooters, bouncy bands for chairs and wobble balance boards, will give individual students who need sensory assigned seating to complete tasks as they struggle with sitting in a traditional chair and desk arrangement.
