The use of Robotics (using mBots from MakeBlock) will help my “students develop and employ strategies for understanding and solving problems in ways that leverage the power of technological methods to develop and test solutions” (Nevada Academic Content Standards for Computer Science and Integrated Technology – 2019). This Technology Standard focuses on developing the Computational Thinker in students. The two (2) primary areas of focus will be 9-12.CT.A (Define complex issues, create a plan, and select appropriate technology-assisted methods such as data analysis, abstract models, and algorithmic thinking in exploring and finding solutions) and 9-12.CT.D (Collaborate to develop an automated process by using algorithmic thinking to develop a sequence of steps to create and test automated solutions).
