The mission of the 5000 Role Model program at our school is to intercede in the lives of these at-risk young men, to give them options that will lead them away from an existence of wrongdoing and viciousness. One way to do this is by motivating them to eat more healthy choices and exercise on a regular basis. My definitive objective is for our young men to acquire abilities that they can then use in regular day-to-day existence after they graduate. Studies have shown that the lessons that can be learned through cooperative play and team sports can be immeasurable. It is difficult to quantify how team commitment and self-sacrifice learned as young men will benefit that same person as an adult. I am requesting a variety of exercise and sports equipment to help teach these valuable skills.
