We have limited tools and equipment to share among classes of up to 36 students. One of the first projects students complete is a scroll saw project where they learn the importance of planing, measuring, careful cuts, proper sanding and finishing. Unfortunately, the line for a turn at a machine can be 25 or more students deep. It makes projects difficult to complete especially for those who choose to challenge themselves with a complicated project. Five additional scroll saws would cut students wait time for a machine in half. This will allow students more time working and less time waiting. The best way to learn in woodshop is to practice. With more equipment, students will be able to gain more experience and skills.
