My students will be able to be more engaged while they can choose where they sit in the classroom. I have students who can't see the board so they come and sit at the from of the room. They don't have basic items such as clipboards to be successful to write on their papers so it is always a struggle to get something to write on and read what the students have written. Currently we are working on 5.OA.A1 and 5.OA.A2 which is Order of Operations. This is something that requires very precise steps to keep the work in order. My students love when they are able to move around the room and not be distracted by others. Since my students are used to working in their own home environment, I want them to feel like the classroom is also their home and can learn the best that they can by feeling safe and secure.
