This kit addresses several different approaches for conducting a crime scene investigation. This scenario-based activity allows students to become detectives and determine who killed our beloved founder, Henry Ward, in a hit-and-run car accident almost one hundred years ago. Students will solve this crime by utilizing various cross-curricular techniques including blood typing, forensic anthropology, fingerprint analysis, impression analysis for tires and shoes, hair analysis, blood spatter, and DNA evidence. While performing these activities, students are exposed to NGSS Life and Physical Science DCIs: LS1, LS2, LS3, LS4 and PS2. This kit has been aligned with all published National Standards. Pre and post-laboratory assessments and vocabulary words all target specific Science and Engineering Practices and common core standards. The teacher guide also contains specific "Did You Know" concepts that link the real world with scientific standards explored
