In our school building, circulation of air is poor. Because of this, air conditioning needs to be on, windows need to be open, and air purifiers must remain on. This is all to combat COVID-19 in our building. This also means that classrooms are extremely cold. Until the heat comes on, scholars are extremely cold, which directly impacts their classroom environment and community. When the environment and community is impacted, so is learning. A sweater or hoodie is the way to fix this! However, a lot of families are struggling to find one in stores that is affordable. To remedy this, I believe I can pull together resources to ensure there are rental sweaters for the day. By providing sweaters, it alleviates the pressure on families and provides the comfortability needed to support scholar learning. When scholars are comfortable, they are able to learn and continue their journey to and through college!
