Flashlight reading is an interactive literacy experience that lets readers enter the world of books and communicate with their favorite authors. It is a quick and fun independent reading time each week where I would bring out flashlights. Students read with flashlights around the room in cozy spots (usually with pillows) in a darkened classroom. Flashlight reading is a wonderful way to engage students while reading. It is also super fun! I am so excited about this project because it will give my students the chance to further their love of reading with new flashlights and additional floor pillows.
