Specifically speaking, I wish to present my students with drawing and painting opportunities that they might more closely associate with their own geographical locale and rural culture. I frequently feel that even though the students appreciate and commit to learning art that originates from other cultures and destinations, they would also benefit from learning about art that represents a physical world that they are not removed from and recognize. I would accomplish this feat by exposing my learners to the art of Frederic Remington, Thomas Hart Benton and Grant Wood. The art supplies that I am requesting would help me to accomplish that goal.
