These materials will be doing double duty to aid students in increasing their literacy skills. For instance, the Guided Reading Curriculum will be used in whole class and small group instruction to help students develop essential strategies to use when reading and analyzing text. The ultimate goal is for the students to develop the modeled skills and incorporate the modeled strategies into their independent reading routine. Additionally, the classroom library will provide students with a variety of reading materials at the appropriate reading levels. The novels will surely spark their interest and lure them to a love for reading.
