Through the math learning games and materials, students will be reaching standards through hands on learning, particularly the multiplication resources. My students love to play games, especially after a year and a half of virtual learning. Being able to use manipulatives like white boards and special dice in math and learn through games is proven to solidify concepts for children. Students love to read "teacher books" - those hard cover books that your teacher would read to you from the carpet. I allow my students access to these books to read during centers or as a free choice activity. They love the biographies of people they might not have researched before like in the “I Am” books. They feel a sense of ownership in the classroom with our special bookshelves. With these particular books we can look at things like point of view, cause and effect, and tons of interesting subjects in our nonfiction texts.
