This viola will make a difference in my students' learning because it is a high-quality student instrument and because it is sized for middle-school students who are still growing. Having the right-sized instrument is crucial, especially when students are just starting out. A high-quality instrument enhances the student's experience because it stays in tune, sounds better, and needs less repair.
Musical instruments stimulate at-home learning, naturally. Students in my Orchestra classes must take their instruments home to practice fifteen minutes a day, five days a week. I give them skills and suggestions to make sure they are productive at home.
Orchestra classes use instruments every day as a central part of the learning process. Students use their instruments to play scales, work on technique and theory, and rehearse pieces for performance. Giving one student an instrument benefits the entire class because it enriches the musical outcome of the entire ensemble. I am specifically asking for a 14" viola because there is a deficiency of this size of instrument in my fleet. Make a donation today to enhance the experience of an Orchestra student!
