You never realize just how much is taught in Kindergarten until you're teaching it yourself. My students are constantly working on letter recognition, numbers, social emotional skills and more but we're also actively working on fine and gross motor skills. Our classroom doesn't currently have a group work desk with COVID precautions causing us to spread out as much as possible and we often sit at our meeting area for small group work. Many of our students are still developing strong core muscles and find it difficult to sit criss-cross at the meeting area to complete tasks like math or writing. Having these flexible seating lap desks that will support their core as they would would turn small group time into double duty activity, strengthening their minds and bodies.
