My students are currently using Mystery Doug science and are excited about doing the amazing experiments. This got me thinking about real scientists and how they dress and why they dress that way. Safety is so important for many reasons. We were sharing that scientists have to wear special clothing to keep themselves and others safe and that there are always safety measures when completing science experiments. The students will have these items to use for the entire science curriculum and then take them home at the end of the school year. So I am on DonorsChoose to ask for some lab coats, safety goggles, and gloves to conduct science experiments like a true scientist in the real world. This way, not only will every student feel and act like a scientist in my classroom, but they will also continue to love and have a passion for science and maybe choose that as their lifelong career.
