Flexible seating allows my students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. When we are working on our research projects, they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Many of them choose to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables, sitting under tables with their notebooks or Chromebooks, or sitting or laying on the floor. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in where they sit and it constantly has proven that the quality of their work has improved. They almost always get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk. The products that I have chosen will help them when they choose to sit somewhere other than their desks. It will allow them to be independent in their choices and will allow the quality of their work to shine through. I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and I want to make sure that I am meeting their needs so that they may show the excellence of how their minds work! It allows them to take charge of their learning, which is a powerful tool!
