Students are learning about the Zones of Regulation through small group instruction. Social/Emotional learning is imperative in elementary students, especially with low socio-economic groups. Students who struggle with self-control, anger control, or impulse control will have an opportunity to foster self-regulation and emotional control through mini-lessons. Social/emotional books will allow students to hear about others who may struggle with regulating their emotions. Students are provided with a variety of learning opportunities through mini-lessons, cooperative play, key vocabulary which is used by the student's parents and teachers, and visual and tactile modalities. Students learning about "how they feel" tend to dissipate escalating behaviors in the classroom, on the school campus, and at home!
