My goal as the school nurse is to keep students comfortable so they can remain at school and focus on their education. Having my office stocked with basic supplies is crucial in supporting teachers and students, because we need our students in class learning. Students have been away from school for over a year, and we need them in the classrooms. My role as the school nurse is important because healthy and happy students can stay in the classrooms for their lesson. I am requesting a variety of supplies that will help me keep my office clean, and safe for all students when they come to see me. Items such as Lysol Disinfectant Wipes, and Medline Fluff and Polymer Disposable Under pads will keep my office free of germs and prevent the spread of a virus in my office. I am requesting a laminator and pouches to laminate games for students so they can have educational resources to use while they are waiting in my office. Being a school nurse also means I have a role as an educator. I want to teach my students about good hygiene because good hygiene can help our children to stay healthy in and out of the school environment. I would love to have one Kids Tooth Brushing Buddy Lil Magi Dragon - Plush Dental Education. I would use this resource to support Dental Health month at our school. During Dental Health Month, I go to each class at our school and teach a lesson on the importance of oral health. Part of my lesson includes modeling the proper way to brush and floss teeth. I am also requesting books to read to my students that promote health, and snacks to have in my office for students when they come my office due to hunger.
