The materials chosen for this project will be used in a hybrid/blended learning manner to help give students access to technology. Many of our students are low-income and therefore cannot pay for their own personal technology or repairs to school technology. As of now, there are not any extra computers around our campus and students do not receive loaner computers from the school when their computers are getting repaired. Some of these students have had their computers in the queue for repairs for over two years. With this being the case, they do not have the proper access to technology that we need to truly run a blended learning classroom. I run multiple programs on the computer that the students can access, manipulate, and receive instantaneous feedback from when writing, communicating, and creating. Having these extra computers will allow those students access who do not have access through no fault of their own. The AppleTVs will allow me to broadcast the programs for the entire class to see as I model and show them the correct way. It will also let me show videos, have live chats/discussions, and attend virtual field trips on a much grander scale than ever before. These materials will allow the students a viewpoint that will prepare them for their futures in a technologically complex world.
