Every year, my goal is to get each student to find at least one book they enjoy reading. By providing students with a wider variety of literature and fidget tools to help them focus, I’m better able to meet their needs. No one wants to read if it’s not something interesting to them, so now here’s another chance. Students are able to bring the books home with them and read in class. I want students to find joy in reading and not just view it as an assigned task from school. These foundational years are when students are moving from learning to read to reading to learn, so why not do it with things they find interesting?

About my class
