The students will use LEGO DUPLO blocks to see examples of emotions and encourage conversation about feelings. They can share personal experiences, and begin to identify feelings in self and others. Problem solving strategies will be practiced and discussed. The social emotional kit will be the foundation for the classroom learning focus. It will draw the interest of the students and offer visual reinforcement of skills learned. The students will use the journals to draw and write/dictate about feelings. They will be able to gain ownership of their feelings as they participate in activities, share their drawings, and express thoughts.

About my class
