My group of students this year are very "hands-on" learners. Any tools that can be used in a manipulative fashion will not only enhance their learning, but will keep their busy bodies focused. We use individual whiteboards in our classroom in multiple subjects, daily. I currently do not have enough whiteboards to individually assign each student one, and those I have are well beyond their years. With the whirlwind of personalities in my classroom, I also have a broad range of students who would benefit greatly from having a fidget to use during instructional time, allowing their hands to do the fidgeting and not their minds and bodies. With that being said, I also have several noise sensitivities in my class. The ability to use headphones will not only keep them in class, but will also greatly reduce their anxiety about the noise level in the room.
