There are many students in school that have serious speech and language delays and disorders, which impact their ability to fully participate in classroom activities. There are a variety of Speech/Language/Voice, Fluency/Stuttering and Hearing Impaired students that could benefit from these language-based kits/materials. I have selected a variety of materials that would be age-appropriate for the students on my current caseload here at school. The "SpeechKids" have services in small group and individual sessions. These items would be fun and visually interesting to the students. They could easily learn strategies that can help them store words and other new words they encounter in the bigger classroom settings. They could also learn to efficiently recall a word (retrieve) when it is needed, as they speak or write down their ideas. It would be extremely beneficial for some of the students to see the word/concept presented a variety of ways. The items are also lightweight and would be easy for me to transport into a variety of small group/classroom and individual settings here on our campus.
