Imagine being excited as a new teacher and ready to have a great school year. You rush out to buy all these nice and creative supplies for your students. You decorate your class with all the fun and exciting things you hope your students will love and just to find out weeks later that your school has been burglarized and your room and all the nice arts, crafts, and supplies have been destroyed and stolen. Unfortunately this happened to me and I was devastated. Spending my hard earn money on things that I planned to use to accomplish objectives and goals suddenly taken away and now I'm left to buy everything again. Being at a high poverty school my parents do not have the resources to go out and purchase some of the school supplies their students need. Being that I am very passionate about my career and the success of my students, it was necessary that I repurchase everything. Being that we are in the middle of a Pandemic, my students do not have the supplies needed at home, so I purchased double of everything in order to make sure my students were equipped for learning. If I am funded this grant, I plan to buy things that will enhance my students learning such as buying manipulatives, pencils, worksheets and other little small crafts that will enhance their critical thinking skills.
