This is my first year without any flexible seating provided by my school. The movement from these seats allows oxygen to flow to students’ brains, which can result in better focus. We have stressed in our school the idea of voice, choice, and ownership. With more flexible seating, students will be able to choose how and where their learning will take place. This can give them the boost they need to show excellence in their work. When we give students the choice of where they will learn, we can meet their social-emotional needs, help foster engagement in learning, and create a space where learning is physically dynamic.
