I teach extraordinary students in a Title I school. This set of class novels will enhance the print-rich classroom that I am creating. My classes have not experienced an English class in two years. I want to re-introduce them to the joys of reading. I supply the classroom with everything that we need from notebooks to snacks so that students have the energy and items needed to be successful writers. My 9th graders are learning to express who they are. They are being introduced to clubs, sports, academics, and the world outside of the home. Through experiences in books, my students will learn about themselves. It will introduce them to literature that they can love. Having a class set of this important and powerful novel will help my amazing students love reading and work on their comprehension skills. My biggest wish for my students is that they can get lost in a good novel and learn about worlds outside of their own.
