My Life Skills students attend school to learn crucial skills for independently navigating life after high school. In order to administer those skills, they must venture into our community and practice mastering the social, emotional, and economical life concepts. Going to the grocery store, having budgeted enough money for their health needs, and exchanging the correct amount of money for their purchase, is one example. They learn to make basic meals, perform daily chores, and socially navigate our community. As their teacher, I want to provide all of the essential opportunities that ensure they will be successful after high school. They have started a school store. To teach students that nothing will come to them "for free”, these materials will allow my students to create designs, operate a Cricut, and press them onto t-shirts for their small business. By having the items in this project, my students will learn the value of hard work, develop social skills, apply budgeting skills, and get them into the community to practice these skills.
