At our school, we currently do not have an art teacher/class. Because of this, we are starting an art interest group for students in grades K-5 who have shown an interest in art. The program will take place after school on Mondays and Thursdays. We are going to start off by learning about the elements of art. Then, we will move into learning about various artists and creating art inspired by them! Some of the artists I have planned to talk about are Kara Walker, Wassily Kadinsky, Piet Modrian, Andy Warhol, and Jean-Michel Basquiat to name a few. Any support would be greatly appreciated. Due to not having an art class for the students year-round, supplies are limited.
