Our students cannot get enough library books! The warm, inviting reading area of the library needs cozy seating so they can sit in a quiet spot to preview their choices. The seats we need are portable and comfortable, providing students flexibility and privacy. The joy that students feel when they are able to borrow a book, proudly take it home and read it to their families is so heartwarming. When taking home books and reading them to their siblings, parents or other family members, students practice reading skills and gain fluency. Students also learn so much more about the world around them and the possibilities that exist for them by reading a wide variety of books. The students in our school are often sheltered and limited by their financial situations. Parents and caretakers struggle to make a living and provide for their children and so they work many hours. Often students are home alone or left to watch their siblings. A book may be the only good distraction or company that they have.
