My sweet students come to school with a desire to learn. Unfortunately, many have not had early exposure to oral language or literature. Both are pertinent to the process of learning, understanding, and applying letter sounds in reading. Without these skills, students do not have the confidence to attack words. The selected materials will be used to set up support work stations where reading interventionists and paraprofessionals can assist students with improving their letter identification and sound knowledge. Improving their letter identification and sound knowledge will give them confidence to attack words and help them become successful readers.
