As a charter school we teach students from a broad spectrum of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds to achieve their best, model excellent character, and take ownership of their own choices. Every day they pledge not only to do their best in their academic and extra-curricular pursuits, but also to improve the world around them. Our students represent several countries from around the world and most are considered a racial minority in the United States. Over half of the population takes part in the free and reduced lunch program available to families in need. All students attend music class and many are engaged in after school musical programs, including string classes, choir, and piano lessons. They have shown incredible enthusiasm for the arts and have demonstrated commitment and responsibility by performing in numerous concerts at school and in the community. For most of the children, these activities are their first exposure to music learning.
