I have several students who need to build on their vocabulary / reading skills. They are not motivated to do this on their own and I want to help them. I'm a first year teacher with a small amount of inventory. I need to build my classroom library with both books that teach them about things as well as their own emotions and decisions while learning to read. I need all the help I can get to encourage my students to gain a love for reading. I also chose books that are classics so they can relate to seeing the movie or hearing the name. They will likely read it if they are excited about the title from prior connections to them or new interest. We have an AR Reading program that I teach and assist with and my students must meet a reading goals each quarter. I really want to see all my kiddos meet their goal by learning to enjoy reading fun and interesting books.
