I would like to create a visual, hands-on space for my ASD learners to interact with all year long. Research continues to show that being involved physically will enhance the entire learning process and create the memory tracks for recall. Our students specifically have goals with interpersonal learning. They will learn the skills to work together in a different light on a year long project, while learning together. I will set up classroom jobs to help maintain our garden. These types of jobs can nurture our learners for real world opportunities that will arise. My hope is for them to find peace in nature as a calming strategy to match our calm classroom curriculum.
