The "The Clay Quest" project will lay the foundation for our students in grades six through eight to experience the therapeutic elements fomented within the art of ceramics. In order to achieve this goal, we need to have a fully functioning kiln that will enhance our space into a more kinesthetic learning environment. Students will dive into the world of clay, allowing their minds to be animated from creativity and exploration within the discipline. The versatility of clay offers a wide gamut of opportunities for students to learn both traditional and experimental techniques. This project will give my students a chance to turn their ideas into real 3D life forms. These lessons will be able to carry with students beyond the classroom and formal educational experiences.
