My students from diverse backgrounds will learn passionately about Japan's culture, geography, tourist attractions, history, and language through their group projects. They already speak more than 30 home languages and have rich cultures to share. Each group of 3-4 students will choose a specific region of Japan to research history, culture, geography, and regional food, and a famous landmark. They will make them into a colorful poster with simple Japanese passages and great 3D color pictures. Most of them do not have color printers at home and giving access to a color printer in our classroom would be a great asset for them. They will be also asked to include the similarities and differences between Japan and the United States or their home country in their group presentation. Their beautiful 3D posters are displayed on the wall and on bulletin boards in the classroom. I am visualizing my students will be immersed in Japan and other diverse cultural classroom community!
