The core content that I teach is math and science; however, I understand the importance and correlation between strong reading skills and success in all subjects. I am looking to add a decorative rug, four medicine ball chairs, and two side tables to my classroom to create a reading lounge for the students. The main focus of this project is to reward students who demonstrate positive behaviors in the classroom with a unique area to spend time each day, while they focus on their reading and language arts skills. This project will help build a strong reading foundation in my classroom, which will also help the students succeed as we learn our math and science content throughout the year.
