"Running in the middle of the school day helps me get through. I dream about it at night! I can't wait for the next time we can run. Running makes me feel so happy." - Hilltop Student The club was developed to reduce anxiety, depression, and negative mood and behaviors. It also improves physical health through an accessible form of exercise amongst students with social/emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges and autism. The team aspect of the program builds self-esteem and new friendships and can alleviate social withdrawal, which is especially important for children with disabilities. Run for Life has proven life-changing for our students and your support will provide us an opportunity to build the program capacity to purchase much-needed fitness gear that allows students to participate safely, and field trips to expose students to new, fun places to run and exercise.
