Augmentative communication devices, such as an iPad, are essential to the development of speech and language skills for my students who range on the Autism Spectrum Disorder. Many of my students are non-verbal, and require devices to communicate their wants and needs throughout the day. With the gift of an iPad, my students will have the opportunity to learn to how use technology in a way to develop their language skills both in the speech therapy room and in the classroom.
