The use of lab jackets is a daily use in my classroom, especially in the dental lab. Using the lab jackets in the dental lab, students learn about proper attire and appearance in a dental setting. In addition, the lab jackets will allow the students to demonstrate professional dress, build, and professionalism, along with the jackets becoming part of their protective equipment. What becomes the problem is the fact that we run out of disposable lab jackets, leaving our class without protective overgarments/ clothing. By having washable jackets, students will reuse these items for years to come and focus on increasing their learning! By donating to our project, you will help improve and increase student attention and focus. In addition, you will ultimately increase their confidence, employability skills, lab skills, and techniques essential to their career pathway and academic achievement in dental science while giving them an overall professional experience in the classroom.
