These materials will help my Students gain a greater understand of the Life Cycles of Plants. As well as a practical insight into the process that brings Food from the Farm to the Grocery Store. Another important component is the Historical Importance of Agriculture, and how that relates to our current local culture and economy. We will be building Raised Gardening Beds in our Wood Shop and then moving them out to the School Grounds to be filled with soil and planted with an assortment of both Flowering and Food plants. We will be discussing soil pH and how different plants respond to different amounts of light. There will be Hot Houses built to cover the Raised Beds for the Winter Months in an attempt to encourage a year-round project.
