Our classroom is in need of a new group time rug and materials to help them engage in learning. Most of our classroom time is spent on our rug and participating in free choice activities. A new rug and manipulatives would help create a welcoming classroom environment with more options for learning. Our classroom rug is the area where our students engage in most of their social emotional learning. My students spend time listening to stories, participating in whole group lessons, dancing, and even free choice activities on our rug area. We also spend a large amount of time allowing our students to freely explore activities in the classroom. Having new manipulatives would provide more activities for our students do engage in during this time.
