All of my students have some type of speech deficit. Speech and language therapy is provided to children in small groups. I'm always looking for new ways to help elicit and build their vocabulary. The purpose of this project is to purchase additional therapy materials that offer a wider variety of speech and language materials to continue to encourage students to engage and improve their vocabulary skills. Therapy is provided for 30 minute sessions. With the magic box I will ask the kids to reach in and describe what they are feeling, guess what the object is, and then name it when they pull it out. With the alphabet zoo the students can work on identifying letters of the alphabet, as well as, matching letters to sounds and increase their vocabulary skills. I will also be able to use the laminator to create and then reuse a wide variety of activities that contain nouns, actions, and adjectives.
