Individual desk seating allows students to take ownership of their learning and focus. During this time of COVID, my students are relying on large tables where there might not always be 3 feet of distance between them and their peers. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. Given the differences in table sizes and types that I have, it doesn't always allow for each student to have an optimal view of the front of the class. This limits how I can form groups for collaborative work and if, at all, they can view the materials and instructions. The product that I have chosen will help my students by giving them a proper desk to sit at and a place to store their unused belongings that isn't the floor or table-top. This will allow for more effective learning choices and limit the discomfort they may feel if seated to closely to others. The individual desk will also allow for small groups to be organized at proper distances, leading to practice in collaboration.
