This art installation will be inspired by the book "Only One You" written by Linda Kranz. During their weekly art class, students will paint their colorful rocks after reading the book with the class. Paint will be used to create their beautiful rocks. Landscaping edging will help build the installation, which will decorate the front of our building. A sign will be built with a quote from the book, "There is only one you in this great big world... make it a better place." While we hope to have students bring rocks they have found in nature, we would have rocks for students who did not have the opportunity to do so. Our hope is to help children understand that they all have something wonderful to contribute to our school community, their homes, and the world. After these two years apart, we would love to create a school project that would help us all feel connected.
