Idaho City kids need ukuleles! Students will have the opportunity to take the ukulele home if they so choose, so they can work on songs at home and perform for their siblings and parents/guardians. Ukuleles are a great beginning way to learn rhythm, chords, and how to properly care for an instrument. They will primarily be used with 7th and 8th graders in their exploratory music classes, but will also be used in guitar class for high school. We can easily learn popular songs that kids like with these ukuleles. Learning music that they want to learn has proven to be more effective than playing songs they don't want to play. The goal is to equip Idaho City kids with the tools they need to be lifelong musicians.
