Our classroom has encountered some unique obstacles, this year, due to the pandemic. Our school's a/c and furnace system has been modified to bring more outside air into the classroom to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. However, it is also pumping in lots of humidity. My hygrometer shows humidity levels climbing as high as 87% in our classroom. This makes our learning environment very uncomfortable, increases the risk of mold/mildew growth, and is not healthy for students with asthma or who have reduced lung capacity due to their disability. The Kpower Dehumidifier will reduce the humidity levels and keep our classroom comfortable and healthy. Normally, sharing is caring but this year we can not share our learning materials. Each child has their own bins with activities based on their interests, needs, and goals. We need more of these items to be able to switch out the students' bins frequently. These new learning activities, toys, sensory items, fidget toys, and materials will help ensure students stay engaged and learning.
