These books will give my students a chance to read a novel as a class. (Typically, I have been photocopying texts and making copies for each student.) However, I really believe that being given their own book to engage with will not only motivate students to read and engage in classroom discourse, but it will show that we put care in their learning and care for them as individuals. By supplying these materials we get one step closer to achieving our classroom goal and progressing as motivated, engaged students.
