Hello Donors, I have spent the past two years teaching Language Arts at an economically challenged high school. From this experience I have learned, from my students, that the time to intervene was before they reached high school as non-readers. This was my motivation for becoming a middle school teacher. For the 2023-24 school year, I will be teaching 7th grade Language Arts. I am taking the knowledge I have collected over the past two years and will apply what I have learned to middle schoolers, especially those reading below grade level. Learning to read requires the love of reading as well as the tools! Thank you to all who have supported my Road to Literacy project. I never imagined how impactful this movement would become. Together we have motivated young people to learn to read and that has led to a love of writing. Young Authors United!!
